FREE MUSIC CULTURAL AND PERFORMANCE CENTER

Truly Top-Notch

This cultural center is located in the community. It is accessible to anyone with a love for music and the arts and will provide young children, teens and adults a completely free education in music and the arts, that other wise would not be available. Centered around the drum set, drum set playing and instruction, the center will offer basic through advanced music instruction, spoken word/poets, comics, vocal/singing, dance, music history, jazz/rock band and orchestral group theory, art work, painting and drawing, chess, concerts, jam sessions and workshops like total immersion Spanish and “Street Smart Self Defense” etc.,                                                 Ed Davis is a former student of jazz great's:             Tony Williams, Billy Higgins, Nic Martinis and close friend of Jimmy Bennington, drum tech for Elvin Jones who gave Ed lots of advice over the years. The center will be run in a similar fashion to “The World Stage” a Los Angeles Cultural Landmark founded by drummer Billy Higgins and poet Kamau Daaood with friends in 1989. The center will be a place anyone in the community is invited to come, practice or play “Live” music with other musicians from the community or just sit back in the audience and enjoy song, dance and music performances or any of the many other programs that will be offered. The center will be open 7 days a week, with various classes or happenings going on daily. The goal is to give children and youth a safe place to go and stay off the streets and out of trouble while gaining a quality education in music and the arts, from rubbing shoulders with experienced working musicians, starving artists, college/university music professors and everyday folk who have a love for music and the arts. The center is free to the public and funded by donations from community sources, individuals and business partnerships. The center is run on a shoe string budget with the help of a small volunteer staff composed of college/university professors, students and the community in general.       Thank You for your support and coming out to see us.
